Explanation of the "Test and Learn" Policy
Explanation of the "Test and Learn" Policy
January 30th
1. The difference between recovered, vaccinated, and those who are not recovered or vaccinated:
According to the guidelines there is no difference between any of the students.
All students - except for those who are newly recovered - are required to test twice a week, on Sunday and on Wednesday, and submit the results to the portal.
2. "Newly Recovered" - A person who has recovered from Corona within 60 days (and in practice 90 days if he has no symptoms). Those who meet this definition are not required to test under this policy.
3. A child whose family member is positive for corona:
Here we differentiate between 2 cases - whether the patient is isolating in a room that is separated from the rest of the household (details on guidelines for those in isolation are available on the Ministry of Health website) or alternatively, if the patient is not isolating from the rest of the family.
A. If the child is newly recovered: the child does not have to test and can return to school.
B. If the child is recovered/vaccinated: If the patient is isolating from the rest of the household, the child can join the testing policy and go to school.
If the patient is not isolated from the rest of the household, the child must wait for the patient to recover and only then can the child join the policy and return to school.
C. If the child is not vaccinated and has not recovered: If the patient is isolated from the rest of the household, the child must isolate from the time of the last exposure. (The isolation can be shortened to 5 days by getting a negative institutional antigen test on the fifth day).
If the patient is not isolating from the rest of the household, once the patient recovers, the child must isolate (The isolation can be shortened to 5 days by getting a negative institutional antigen test on the fifth day) before going back to school.
4. Isolation:
A child who is exposed to a patient and does not perform tests on Sunday and Wednesday according to the policy must go into full isolation for 14 days.(The isolation can be shortened to 5 days by getting a negative institutional antigen test on the fifth day).
