Daily Update for Thursday, May 21st, 13:00

Dear Residents,

We received a number of questions following yesterday's update, and we will try to clarify here:
The obligation to enter into isolation applies to anyone who has been in close contact with a verified patient. Close contact is defined as within two meters for at least 15 minutes. One who is in isolation must be in a separate room, use different utensils from the rest of the household, and have a separate toilet, if possible. Detailed instructions can be found at https://govextra.gov.il/ministry-of-health/corona/corona-virus/faq-corona/

A resident who violates isolation instructions is a danger to the community. The Israel Police are in charge of enforcement. To report an isolation breach go to the following link: https://survey.gov.il/he/quarantineviolation

Yesterday morning, at the decision of the government and with the blessing of Rabbi Raskin, the synagogues in Efrat were reopened with the exception of the synagogues in the Tamar Neighborhood:
Tefila Moshe ViEliyahu
The Central Synagogue
The synagogues in the school - Shirat HaTamar and Beit HaMoriah
And synagogues that meet in the preschools and in the Matnas/school building will not open until the restriction of parents' entry into school is lifted.

Minyanim must adhere to the Ministry of Health's guidelines:
Up to 50 participants may pray in a space that allows for at least 2 meters between people. Participants should avoid contact and being too close together. Everyone must wear a mask and maintain strict hygiene. It is recommended to bring your own siddur and chumash. Each synagogue will have a designated member whose job is to ensure compliance with the guidelines.
With all the joy of reopening the synagogues, we remind you to be careful not to hug or shake hands with others. Our synagogues are known to be friendly and welcoming, but we do not want to incur a new wave of infection.

To all Efrat residents,
Throughout the last few months, we have proven that we are a town that values communal commitment and mutual responsibility. We are a community that demonstrates trust, love, and concern for each other. But it is important to remember that despite our return to routine, the virus is still here and it can spread again if we do not remain self-disciplined and follow the guidelines.

Please note that starting tomorrow the rule of wearing masks in public, which was suspended during the heatwave, is back in effect.

We will continue to update,
The Public Information Team
