Daily Update for Monday 25 may

Dear Residents,

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, we published the first "Daily Update" when we realized that the Coronavirus was affecting us. The virus arrived in Israel, and the authorities began to prepare, but at that time we still did not realize how many cases we would see in Efrat. Two days later, the picture began to change with the suspicion that a significant number of residents of the Tamar neighborhood had been infected. A very large number of Efrat residents went into isolation, the number of infections was increasing, and we were dealing with quite a few residents who had returned from abroad.

Those days were filled with uncertainty. We did not know what was going to happen. But it was clear to us that we had to prepare for a number of cases. We could never have imagined what would happen to Efrat, its residents, and its employees in the next two months.

In the first Daily Update, we assured you that we would send an update of new developments every day, while maintaining reliable and accessible transparency. Since then, we have issued an update almost every day, sometimes more than once a day, and we have made sure to distribute the information by all means: on Facebook, the Council website, the app, and via email.

These updates helped us deliver updated guidelines and messages, and as a rule, the public was attentive to these messages. Thanks to your adherence to the guidelines and instructions, we were able to stop the spread of infection in Efrat.

Now that the kids are back in school and everyone is returning to their regular routine, we believe that it is the right time for us to return to our routine as well.

This was a difficult experience for us . It was complicated and challenging, but it has left us stronger and more connected. We want to thank you for trusting us during this period. We are grateful for your positive feedback and kind words, for your comments, corrections, and questions, and for the mutual connection that has been created.

We would like to thank the public information team: Shira, Keren, Revital, Shmuel and Yarat, who were constantly available to work. And to Kally for the English translations.

The Moked will continue to work together with the Council's media, and together we will keep you updated on developments.

Thank you again for your trust,
Wishing everyone good health, and an uneventful return to routine,

Yael Kanfo and Sarit Herbst,
The Public Information Team
