What is mediation?

Mediation involves resolving a conflict between two parties through negotiation with the help of a mediator who is a neutral third party. The mediators help the parties to reframe the issues of their conflict, find common ground and empower them to find creative solutions that will be agreed upon by both parties.

When is mediation used?

Disputes arise between neighbors, between an Efrat resident and a business/service provider or between family members. Today, disputes are handled by various departments in the council, rabbis in the community, the police or the emergency services. If necessary, they will refer the parties to a mediation center.

How long does the mediation process last and how much does it cost?

A mediation session usually requires a few hours. The process can be one or more meetings depending on the nature of the dispute and other factors. There is a minimal cost for the mediation.

Who manages the center for mediation and community dialogue?

Mediation is run by certified volunteer mediators. Our center will provide them with further training and supervise their activities.
