Update for residents Sunday 22.10 time 17:00

Dear residents,
We are beginning the third week of the Iron Swords war. The schools in Efrat have all extended their learning hours.
Emunah Daycare opened today until 16:00 and most of the private daycares are preparing to open.
Preschools will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and tzaharon will run until 4:00 p.m.
 The schools update the hours for the next school day directly to the parents through the classroom teachers.

All the educational activities are running in accordance to the instructions set by the Home Front Command.
 This is an opportunity to say a big thank you to the pikud haoref team who have been accompanying and guiding us since the outbreak of the war.

With the opening of the educational institutions, we have received many questions, mainly regarding the part-time school hours.

 1. The Efrat Local Council greatly values the return of students to the educational institutions. It allows parents to go out to work and children are given the opportunity to spend time with friends their own age and disconnect a little from the painful reality.  The psychological services department together with the guidance counselors work with the school staff in order to guide them in their interactions with the students.

 2. Along with following the instructions from the Home Front Command, the educational institutions are also dealing with missing staff and teachers who have been called up to reserve duty. The teaching staff come to us from different towns. There are some towns in which, for various reasons, the education system may be operating partially, if at all. This creates a domino effect.  Lack of manpower in a certain place forces education staff to stay with their children at home and not come to work. The lack of uniformity in the opening of the educational institutions at the national level directly effects the opening of the educational institutions in Efrat.
The Education Department and the educational institutions are doing their best every day to reassemble the "puzzle" of the education staff and allow as many frameworks as possible to open properly.
 Parents who are willing to volunteer to help the school staff are asked to contact the school secretaries.

 Questions also come to us regarding the matter of security  of the educational institutions.
 Already in the first hours of the war, half of Efrat's security team was called to reserves.
Their position was taken by the soldiers based in Efrat, some of them residents of Efrat. Volunteer residents also joined the security forces, which made it possible to increase the security response in the educational institutions. Despite the many volunteers and recruits, it is not possible to put security guards in every gan and daycare center.
 It is important to remember that the security system of the educational institutions is part of the various security circles of Efrat. They operate routinely and in emergencies according to the instructions of the army and the police.
