Registration Procedure
Registration for special education programs is coordinated between the parents and the municipal special education coordinator, with priority given to the child’s individual needs and placement suitability.
If parents choose a personal package (sal ishi) within a regular classroom, registration is handled directly with the school after receiving the placement notice from the municipal Placement Committee.
When students transition between educational stages—such as from kindergarten to first grade, from elementary to middle school, or from ninth grade to high school—placement committees are held by the municipality.
The municipal placement committee includes a Ministry of Education inspector, a representative from the psychological service, and a representative from the council’s education department.
These committees, which match students to appropriate educational settings, are held during June and July.
For students entering **ninth grade** in *ulpanot* (girls’ high schools) and *yeshivot* (boys’ high schools), every effort is made to notify parents of placement decisions **before the Passover vacation**.
Registration for preschools and special education preschools is done through the **Preschool Registration Website**
Children placed in special education settings located far from their home are entitled to transportation (according to Ministry of Education criteria). Transportation registration takes place during the designated registration period after receiving the required form from the transportation coordinator.
The opening of special education kindergartens, as well as remedial, emotional, and communication classes, is carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Education and in cooperation with the **Gush Etzion Regional Council**.
Placement notifications for special education frameworks outside Efrat are sent to parents **throughout the summer months**.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
