After the expansion of the Bottle Deposit Law, the cages for recycling bottles were removed from cities and towns throughout the country, and residents were forced to collect the bottles and go to the grocery store in order to get their deposit.
In Efrat we thought of a way to improve the situation!
We are keeping the recycling cages in place to allow residents who are not interested in the deposit to recycle close to home. The money collected from recycling bottles will be put into a designated fund which will be returned to residents in the form of various activities that benefit the community.
The "chessed" cages - the bottle collection cages designed to collect money for charity - will continue to function as before.
The employees of the Shefa Department have finished marking and locking the recycling cages. They will collect the bottles as needed, and they will collect the deposit fee and return it to you, the residents.
When you recycle, we all gain!
