The symbol of the Efrat Local Council was conceived by Moshe Moskowitz, founder and first mayor of Efrat. Council members searched for a symbol that would express their ambitions for town. The symbol was chosen by the first Council in 1979.

The chosen symbol is the result of a combination of several ideas and elements:

The dome represents the nearby tomb of Rachel, which reminds us of the verse "and the sons will return to their borders."

Next to it is a modern house with a red roof, which symbolizes new construction.

The two trees and the furrows in the fields symbolize the new planting and our desire to once again take root in our homeland.
