Urban Nature
The term urban nature refers to animals and vegetation that can be found within the jurisdiction of the city, nature that is in an open or built-up area, such as ancient trees, blossoms, nesting areas, reptiles and amphibians and the like.
This is a relatively new concept that has been adopted in recent years in the world of design.
Cultivating nature sites located in the urban environment and preserving the original and unique character of local nature for the benefit of the public, is gaining momentum in many cities.
In various cities in Israel and around the world, large areas are allocated for the preservation and management of natural systems within the city limits. In these cities, nature is perceived as a prestigious and high-quality resource, inexpensive to maintain and with content that can be utilized for many public needs. These areas embody the spirit of the place, and form part of its image, character, and appeal.
