Eli Mizrachi, the fourth mayor of Efrat, was born in 1945. He is a graduate of Yeshivat HaSharon and the Ponovich Yeshiva. Eli is married to Galia, and   they have four children.

 In the army, Eli served as a medic, and was in charge of a trauma clinic. He helped to liberate Jerusalem during the Six Day War. After his military   service, he was a teacher in Jerusalem.

 Professionally, Eli worked as an electrical contractor, but in 1997 he turned to public service, serving as the head of the religious council in Efrat. He   valued kindness and giving, and he established the Keren Yeshua Gamach.

 In 2004, Eli was elected mayor of Efrat, where he worked hard to upgrade security and improved local education by building additional classrooms   and regulating the existing educational buildings.
