Eitan Golan
Eitan Golan, the third mayor of Efrat, was born in 1940 in Jerusalem. He was a graduate of the Kfar Galim school, and he is survived by his wife and four daughters.
Eitan completed his bachelor’s degree in law during his military service. In 1977 he was one of the founders of the settlement of Beit Horin. In 1978, after years of volunteering in the Civil Guard, he enlisted in the National Fraud Investigation Unit of the Israel Police. He served as the head of a division for the investigation of serious crimes, and later as the head of the fraud division in the Tel Aviv district. Eitan served as president of the Disciplinary Tribunal, and as deputy chief of staff.
In 2000, Eitan was elected mayor of Efrat. Because of the security situation at the time, he initiated the establishment of the united security center with Gush Etzion, founded the camera project, and built the medical emergency center.
Eitan Golan died in 2007 and was buried in the cemetery in Kfar Etzion.
