Daily Update, Tuesday 12 April 7, 13:00
According to preliminary information that is awaiting government approval, new guidelines will take effect this evening in order to maintain our health and control the outbreak of the
The guidelines will remain as they are today until 16:00. People are permitted to leave the house to go grocery shopping in Efrat and at Tzomet HaGush, and for essential medical and legal cases.
As of 16:00, the entrance to Efrat will be closed to non-residents.
Efrat residents will not be able to leave, and grocery shopping can only be done within Efrat. The only people who will be allowed to leave are essential workers, those with medical or legal reasons, and those making custody exchanges.
Tomorrow, starting at 18:00, no one will be allowed to enter or leave Efrat. One may only leave the house to go a distance of up to 100 meters.
There are many checkpoints in Jerusalem and there is tight supervision and enforcement of the rules. You can avoid fines and unpleasantness by adhering to the guidelines and remembering that the purpose of the guidelines is to protect us and our families.
Bi’ur Chametz - This year there will be no communal chametz burnings. Please note that inspectors and police officers will enforce this. According to Rabbi Riskin one can pour bleach, or something similar, on their chametz so that even a dog would not be tempted to eat it, and then throw it away in the municipal garbage cans. All the information pertaining to Pesach can be found on the Council website: http://www.efrat.muni.il/?CategoryID=1127
Garbage removal began early this morning and will continue for the next 24 hours (including early tomorrow morning). We are doing everything we can to keep Efrat clean, and we ask that you refrain from leaving garbage bags near the bin. If the bin is full please go to a different bin.
Pharmacy - The Pharmacy will be open on Erev Pesach from 08:00 to 11:00, and on chol haomed from 9:00-12:00. They are not currently offering delivery service, but deliveries will resume after Pesach.
During the night, the Efraton was distributed at the entrances to homes. If you did not receive one please let us know in the comments.
We have recently distributed over one hundred food packages to individuals and families in need of assistance. If you know of a family in need, please tell us or the Neighborhood Team leaders. We will get through this together!
Wishing you a happy and healthy chag,
We will continue to update,
